To lower his / her / its arterial tension and his / her / its medication thanks to the relaxation
Sessions of relaxation could help the people who make to reduce their hypertension medication, according to Harvard researchers of the university.
They led a test clinique1 by 122 hypertensive topics, aged of 55 years and more, that took at least two medicines aiming to lower their arterial tension. Lasting eight weeks, the participants were assigned to sessions of relaxation or to a program of modification of their life style (group witness).
At the end of this first phase of the survey, 72% of the topics of the relaxation group and 59% of those of the group witness had lowered their arterial tension sufficiently to reduce their medication. According to the results, the participants of the relaxation group succeeded better than the other in interrupting one of the two medicines that they took without their tension does not go up for as much.
The participants practiced the technique named "answer of relaxation", a simple method and without undesirable effect, aiming to lead a state of deep relaxation. They had to listen every day, home, a registration audio of 20 minutes.
Other techniques also permit to reach a state of deep relaxation, as the meditation, the prayer, yoga, the tai-chi, the Qi Gong, the self-hypnosis or the autogenous training, underline the authors of the survey.
