Better to live with our child: of the answers for the pregnant woman
The guide Better to live with our child, the bedside book by far new parents, will now act as work of reference since the first months of pregnancy. In addition to treat the development of the fetus and the health of the pregnant woman, the guide’s new edition consists of a section on the childbirth.
The work will be handed to the mother henceforth before the 18th week of his/her/its pregnancy, at the time of one visit at the physician, in the CLSC, in the center of withdrawal or home of birth. Before, the guide was given to the parents after the child’s birth.
" The parents will find some answers to their questions concerning the development of the fetus, health during pregnancy, the preparation to the baby’s arrival, the progress of the childbirth and the first days following the birth", explain Dre Nicole April, physician-advice to the national institute of public health of Quebec (INSPQ).
It is therefore a guide improved of 160 pages on pregnancy and the childbirth that will be handed to the Québecois parents free. The prenatal content has been financed by the Foundation Lucie and André Chagnon1.

Since 1980, the parents of 2 300 000 Québecois babies could benefit from the advice and information contained in to live Better with our child. The inspq takes care of the writing and the publication of the book since 2000.
