After Sharp last week , TDK is the second company to announce [JP] Blu-ray Disc with a capacity of 100GB. The drives are compatible with the new BDXL format, which allows you to store 33.4GB on each of the three layers(conventional Blu-ray discs offer 50 GB max.).
BRV100HCPWB1A will go on sale in Japan in September(TDK did not say anything further plans for international sales), some time after it rolls Sharp CD(July 30). Buyers can expect the same price as the Sharp panels street, which is $55.
TDK is also a useful chart(and translated into several parts), which explains the compatibility between BD and BDXL players / recorders and discs.
