Question by Azu: How come porn is legal but prostitution on its own is not?
Isn’t porn just prostitution plus lights and a camera?
Why does adding the latter two change it from illegal to legal?
It doesn’t in other situations; rape is illegal whether or not you film it, uncompensated consensual sex is legal whether or not you film it.
Why does it make the difference between felony and legal act in prostitution?
They both get paid to have sex, the only difference is one of them does it in front of a camera and the other doesn’t. What makes one of these people significantly worse than the other?
“Prostitution is not illegal. Soliciting or Communication for the purpose of Prostitution is.”
Selling something is legal but advertising it isn’t (while advertising other things is)? How does that make any sense whatsoever?

Prostitution is the act of selling sexual services. Pornography is in the business of acting.
A prostitute gets paid for her sexual services, while a porn “actor” gets paid for the “acting”. That’s why it is legal – nobody is getting paid for sex. Neither side is paying for the act, and that makes it legal.

I would say the practical difference between the two is that most homeowners and business owners simply don’t want scantily clad hookers hanging around in front of their buildings and creating a public nuisance by producing extra traffic on their streets at all hours of the night. Porn producers and escort services don’t create that sort of annoyance, so the cops generally leave them alone.
one gets taxes taken out of the paycheck. the Gov. doesn’t want anyone to work unless they (Gov.) get paid. another thing is that they don’t really want people to have another sexual release, unless they get paid. thats it.
Prostitution is not illegal. Soliciting or Communication for the purpose of Prostitution is.
You can sell sexual services. You just can’t advertise it or actively promote your product.
