Improvement evident – but slight
The Abilene Economic Index improved for the fourth consecutive month in May – but not by much. The AEI increased by just a tenth of a point for the third straight month to 108.9, up from 108.8 in April. The index bottomed out at 108.0 in January, hopefully marking the end of what would be a 15-month recession in the Abilene general economy.
