Biology

I really liked this book. It was readable but full of excellent information. Lots of pretty pictures broke up the text and kept me going, and there were plenty of well-done graphics to explain concepts that were a bit heady. This text has an emphasis on evolution as the cornerstone of Biology, which was very informative and helpful. In addition, the access code allowed me access to the study tools on the McGraw-Hill site, which I found very helpful. There is no need to purchase a study guide to go with this text, as all of the answers are included in the back. I think it is assumed that one will practice on the site rather than out of the text, though frankly I found the subject matter easy enough to absorb with good notes from my class, reading the chapter, and reviewing the information my instructor emphasized. The graphics were great to draw in order to help complicated ideas like cellular respiration really sink in and be understood. I highly recommend this text, and plan on keeping my copy for my own personal reference.
